I am the first to admit I suck at art, however there is a small and spastic inner drive to doodle various things including space. I love space. Fuck you. But one of the hardest things for me to create digitally is something fluid, smooth and possibly abstract. Now I can make a mean square or sphere, but Nebula’s in nature are fluid, random, and natural. This image will be my first of a series of images to soon accomplish my goal, or best attempt at something I already gave up on. What I did was make my standard planet within sumo paint. Next I did random layers of colors, in a way I thought could look like a Nebula. Now this part failed miserably, but what I did afterwards was create textured bitmap in the center of it. This was ok, but the best part was it made it look like stars were being born inside. Then I took the color black and the flow of 33% and just went over this mess. This was the best part of it… now I have no idea what I am doing, I make a plan, and I engage in operation “Dick Around.” But this gave the illusion I was looking for (sort of) … the darkness of space in the gaps of beauty.
Please provide constructive advice… Its greatly appreciated, especially since I have no idea what I am doing. I almost consider looking at some forums or other forms of online information. But its funner to tell the story of how to figure it out my own… but that can only go so far. I will snap eventually and look up some Youtube video.
